RARE FIBULA KNOWN AS "NAVICELLE
in gold and granulations. Sanguisuga type, and characterized by a part in the form of a curved arch joining a thin flat rectangular part under which the pin is placed.
On the surface of the gold, granulation decoration of geometric and floral motifs. The flat part of the fibula hosts a frieze of ducklings. This fine granulation is characteristic of Etruscan goldsmith's productions.
The culmination of this technique, the puviscolo, which means "dust", presents granules that have become microscopic, as can be seen on this piece.

A rare Etrsucan gold Sanguisuga-type Fibula with granulation, 7th-6th century B.C.
Characterized by a part in the shape of a curved arc joining a thin rectangular flat part under which the pin is fixed.
On the surface of the gold, decoration in granulation of geometric and floral designs. The flat part of the fibula accommodates a frieze of ducklings. This fine granulation is characteristic of the productions of Etruscan goldsmiths.
