This almost absolute completeness, which is so difficult to achieve, is due to the author's use of public and private collections, which he was allowed to use with great liberality ... As for the method of execution of the prints, it is very simplified according to a newer method practiced in the Imperial and Royal Court Printing Office and gives positive images produced by transfer and etching on zinc, printed with the letterpress" (Preface). - Alois Pokorny, like Ettingshausen, was director of the Vienna State Printing Office. Both of them had a series of works with illustrations produced in natural self-printing according to the Auers process, which they continued to perfect. - Plate 80 printed with 2 scales on Japanese paper. - Pre-title with crease marks and a little browned, otherwise a good clean copy.
