Statue of a Mumuyé ancestor representing a stylized human figure. The powerful sculpture is organized around a cylindrical trunk from which appear broad shoulders and pelvis. The head is slightly turned, and the arms and legs are out of alignment, imparting a dynamic attitude. The details of the face, inscribed under an enveloping headdress, are treated with finesse.
