Pair of bergères by Claude Sené in lacquered, molded and carved beechwood with rectangular back. The armrests with cuffs rest on supports with detached baluster columns topped with flowers and resting on a circular base. The connecting pieces are decorated with flowers in full bloom. The molded belt is slightly curved. They stand on four tapered and fluted feet. Stamped "G. Sené", received master in 1743. Work of the Louis XVI period Height 86 Width 62 Depth 60 cm (reinforcements) If Claude Sené illustrates himself in the Louis XV style by a decorative repertoire which he entrusts to Nicolas Heurtaut, he confirms all the virtuosity of his art in the neo-classical style of the reign of Louis XVI. This production remains confidential because effective during a very short time. Claude Sené stopped producing in 1780. Very rare examples are to be noted. This pair of bergères is then a rare testimony sharing already the decorative repertoire of Jean-Baptiste Sené, received master in 1769. By their general shape, our examples are not without reminding the delivery for Madame Elisabeth at the castle of Montreuil.
