Coffee table with marble and hard stone inlay, including lapis lazuli and malachite, decorated with a central cartouche surrounded by scrolls. It rests on a blackened wood base composed of four cambered feet. Contemporary work. Height 48, length 120, depth 59 cm. The top of our table is a work realized in the taste of the Opificio delle pietre dure of Florence, active during the Renaissance. This tradition continued in the 17th century with illustrious examples, such as the ceremonial table presented in the Musée des Beaux Arts in Tours and the one from the royal collections of 1684 kept in Versailles by Claude-Antoine Couplet.
