Pair of low cabinets of architectural form in ebony veneer opening in front of a large leaf and a small door, a hidden drawer in the belt allowing access to a secret compartment. Each cabinet is decorated with rectangular panels in hard stone marquetry: - In the center, a panel illustrating a fruit basket in Darnes limestone and a panel decorated with a vase of flowers animated by butterflies in flight. The main flower, in full bloom, in yellow jasper of Volterra. - On the sides, eight small panels decorated with flowering stems alternated with birds on branches in marble stones and glass paste. - In the belt, a plate decorated with a composition of fruits in half round-boss made of marble stones, amethyst roots and carnelian in intarsio, the entablature in turquoise marble and the support in lapis lazuli. Background of black stone from Belgium. Ornamentation in chiseled and gilded bronze such as beaded and palmettes framing rods, frieze of fleurons and palmettes, frieze of rais-de-coeur, claw feet.
