Mary is kneeling in front of a desk on which an open book is placed, her cloak spread around her in many broken folds; her head surmounted by the dove of the Holy Spirit, she opens both hands in a gesture of astonishment and acceptance; picturesque details with curtains sliding on rods, a tiled floor, a small side door of the desk trimmed with ironwork ajar, and a pair of pikemen placed on the furniture.
