Original TÉKKÉ-BOUKHARA carpet (Russia), 3rd third of the 19th century
Dimensions : 311 x 213cm.
Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on wool foundation.
A brick red field supports five columns of twelve polychrome "Gühls" "Tekkés", interspersed with secondary "Gühls" with starred crosses, with "Kotchaks". Two magnificent counter borders with multicolored "Kotchaks" frame the main one with a series of small radiating octagonal medallions with "Armenian" crosses. Two magnificent reserves at each end decorated with flowering stems remind us of the Yomoud style. Ivory borders with small starred crosses at each head.
