Old carpet BÉCHIR (Central Asia), middle of the 19th century
Dimensions : 440 x 240cm.
Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on wool foundation.
An octagonal medallion, polychrome, in the shape of a gühl, radiates in the center of an anthracite field covered with a sowing of plants and stylized flowers brick, blue and ivory. In the four corners, four other gühls radiate in all directions. Flanked by pearls and octagons, a blue counter border is decorated with brick flowers, another old gold one with stylized symbols. Both enclose the main blue border with boxes decorated with flaming "suns".
