KONAKEND carpet (Caucasus), end of the 19th century Dimensions : 245 x 150cm. Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on wool foundation. A set of nine pastel borders frame the field of this carpet. Four ivory with a series of hooked "S", two anthracite with garlands of flowers, two with bayadère decoration (multicolored stripes) and one main ivory with a succession of multicolored stylized cruciform flowers. They enclose a background with a brick latticework of flowers and honeycomb, where appear oblong floral compositions with a starry heart. Homogeneous set (Wear and restorations, in the state)
