Pair of wall lights decorated with acanthus leaves and oak Louis XV style Gilt bronze Bears the hallmark of the crowned C H. 83 cm ; W. 54 cm ; D. 29 cm A garland of oak leaves sprinkled with small acorns wraps around the three-light arm, which is based on the large model in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York (fig. 1). The pair of sconces, attributed to Jean-Claude Th omas Duplessis, bears the crowned C, a hallmark used between 1745 and 1749 (H. Ott omeyer and P. Pröschel (eds.), Vergoldete Bronzen, Munich, 1986, I, p. 143).
