Silk inlaid GHOUM carpet (Iran), Shah period, mid 20th century
Dimensions : 380 x 260cm.
Technical characteristics : Velvet in wool and silk on a cotton foundation.
A sky blue field hosts a sowing of flowered stems in circumvolution, in the middle of which is enthroned an old gold medallion, lozenge-shaped, poly-lobed, decorated with a starry flower and a vegetalized decoration and its pendants. Numerous ceramics and pottery embellish the whole. While the ivory spandrels with arabesques support "coffee cups". Two old gold counter borders with garlands of flowers surround the main navy with suites of flowers and pottery.
