ANCELOT Virginie, born Chardon (1792-1875). Autograph letter signed to a "dear Sir". S. l., September 12, 1862; 2 p. in-12°, dry stamp VA.
Having a treaty with A. Cudot, publisher of his works, it is "thus to him that the commission or rather the Society of the people of letters will be indebted in the future". This treaty concerns only what is printed, "the small news that you have handwritten in your hands and that you promised to publish in the Bulletin is not included".
Stendhal frequented, from 1827 to his death, the salon of the Ancelots for the amusing company that one met there.
