MARRIAGE CONTRACT BETWEEN PIERRE PHELLIBERT, SON OF A MERCHANT OF SAINT-CHAMOND, and Catherine Froment, daughter of a cutlery merchant of the same town, detailing "the matrimonial promises, constitutions de doctations, donnations, obligations et aultres choses" agreed upon for the occasion. One can read among other things the detailed list of the movable goods given to the bride by her parents (dresses, cotillions, bed with cushion, etc.), and the fact that the groom "will be held... to enjoaler icelle espouze of good & souffizans jewels according to the quallity of icelle espouze".
