Piece signed as a notary public under the authority of the bailly of Forez, Jacques d'Urfé, and the judge-general of the barony of Saint-Chamond. 1605 5 pp. in-folio on 2 bifeuillets bound with a brown silk ribbon; a half sheet cut out without lack of text. MARRIAGE CONTRACT BETWEEN PIERRE PHELLIBERT, SON OF A MERCHANT OF SAINT-CHAMOND, and Catherine Froment, daughter of a cutlery merchant of the same town, detailing "the matrimonial promises, constitutions de doctations, donnations, obligations et aultres choses" agreed upon for the occasion. One can read among other things the detailed list of the movable goods given to the bride by her parents (dresses, cotillions, bed with cushion, etc.), and the fact that the groom "will be held... to enjoaler icelle espouze of good & souffizans jewels according to the quallity of icelle espouze". With an apostille indicating the insinuation of the act in a register of the sénéchaussée of Lyon (1605).
