Marseille, 18 pluviôse year XI [February 7, 1803]. One p. large folio partly printed in the Directoire period and corrected by hand to take into account the advent of the Consulate, engraved frame with the effigy of the Republic on a naval view background and with the attributes of the Commercial Navy, tax stamp and seal of the Republic in red ink; a little short of margin, small cracks at folds. NICE LEAVE OF THE FRENCH COMMERCIAL SHIPS Congé délivré au capitaine Joseph-François-Marie Lemaistre, pour quitter le port de Marseille et aller à Grandville avec son bâtiment " L'Épervier enregistré et domicilié au port de Marseille, construit à Grandville en 1787 [...] ", brig de 12 mètres ayant 2 mats, d'une capacité de 111 tons. With an apostille from an employee of the navigation office at the customs of the port of Le Havre (3 floreal year XI-23 April 1803).
