Prints of the period (mostly counter-types), that is to say: 4 of about 21 x 17 cm, 19 of 16-18 x 11-13 cm, and 22 of smaller size, mounted on 20 sheets of an oblong (25 x 31 cm) in-4 sketchbook, with handwritten captions in ink, stapled under illustrated cover; top cover detached; in navy blue basane-backed cardboard folder in a modern cardboard case. An amateur album, apparently made up by a Frenchman stationed in Madagascar after the conquest of the island and its constitution as a colony (1896), and probably by a member of the 3rd office of the occupation corps which, as a topographic office, was in charge of the mapping of the territory.
