History
The Alexandrinsky service takes its name from its patron, Empress Alexandra Feodorovna of Russia (1872-1917), who in 1899 commissioned a service of 1300 pieces for the Winter Palace, the model of which was largely inspired by an 18th century Sèvres service that was in the palace stores.
