the lid with painted decoration of the portrait of Alexander Alexeievich Tuchkov (1777-1812) after the original portrait of Alexander Varnek (1782-1843) kept in the Panorama Museum of the Battle of Borodino in Moscow, representing him in the uniform of a general decorated with the cross of the Order of St. George, the cross of the Order of St. Vladimir and the cross of the Order of St. Anne. Manufacture Gardner, Moscow, circa 1820-1830. Mark in blue underglaze. D. 8,2 cm. History Alexander Alexeyevich Tuchkov (1777-1812) was a Russian military leader and major general who participated in many battles including Vitebsk, Smolensk and Valutina Gora. It was during the Battle of Borodino in 1812 that he was mortally wounded in the chest by machine gun fire and lost his life.
