History
"Master of the landscape", "magician of light", there is no shortage of adjectives to define the work of Ivan Choultsé. This frozen landscape of Lake St. Moritz, reflecting the rays of the moon, was painted in the Engadine Valley, located in the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland, where Ivan Choultsé stayed between 1917 and 1919. The immaculate beauty of the landscapes that he saw there inspired an important part of his work. With these almost mystical glows, he brilliantly illustrates himself here in the night landscape.
