This pedestal table veneered with amaranth and maple burl is dated 1825.
It is characteristic of the aesthetic elaborated at the end of the 18th century, at the revelation of the medieval art by the Museum of French Monuments. The decoration "à la cathedral" invaded all the production of the imperial era. Thus, the six-curved base of this table, its columns with capitals carved with large leaves, the pointed arches with spandrels pierced by quatrefoils and the very ornate decoration of its wide belt all refer to the Gothic style.
