ROCAILLE CLOCK Paris, Louis XV style Gilt bronze; glass and enamel Dial signed : Martinot / in Paris H. 54 cm ; W. 38 cm ; D. 23 cm The movement is signed Martinot, one of the representatives of "the longest dynasty in the history of watchmaking".1 During the reign of Louis XV, the Jean branch supplied several watchmakers to the king under the names of Jacques, then Jacques II or of Claude, then Claude II and Jean- Claude.
