* LARGE FLAT DESK Louis XV period Violet wood on oak frame; gilt bronze; worn leather Some replacings and some bronzes reported Presented in its old condition H. 77 cm ; W. 180 cm ; D. 87 cm Provenance Former collection of Madame B., Paris This desk with all sides presents a scalloped top, trimmed with worn leather underlined by a moulding. The four elegant feet are underlined by a rocaille fall and by sabots with grenetis and terminal scroll. It opens with three drawers in the belt, the middle drawer in recess. The cut of the drawers and the sides, stamped with a gilt bronze rosette, is enhanced by the effects of the violet wood curling.
