History:
Paul Jouve created this portrait of two young bears in 1927. For the illustration of the Hunt for Kaa (text by Rudyard Kipling, Éditions Javal & Bourdeaux, Paris, 1930), the artist made several preparatory drawings; he used this drawing in plate IX of the maxims of Baloo.
