PAUL JOUVE (1878-1973) Two young bears, 1927 Grease pencil on imperial Japan paper. The background heightened with white oil. Sold in a marie-louise and in a non-original light oak frame. Signed and dated P. JOUVE (19)27 in the lower right corner. History: Paul Jouve created this portrait of two young bears in 1927. For the illustration of the Hunt for Kaa (text by Rudyard Kipling, Éditions Javal & Bourdeaux, Paris, 1930), the artist made several preparatory drawings; he used this drawing in plate IX of the maxims of Baloo.
