DINGEMAN VAN DER HAGEN (DORDRECHT 1610-1672) THE MUSICIANS Canvas Accidents and old restorations Musicians, canvas, accidents and old restorations 114,4 x 98,5 cm - 45 x 38,8 in. Dingeman van der Hagen was active in Antwerp from 1632 to 1658. He was an apprentice at the Guild of Saint Luke in Antwerp and became a master in 1647. He was again in Dordrecht in 1661. We find the same young man on the left in The Card Players (canvas, 132 x 166 cm, signed and dated 1652) in the Jagdschloss Grunewald in Berlin; the same female type in the Allegory of Abundance (canvas, 111 x 114.5 cm, signed and dated 1667) sold at Sotheby's, London, 1999.
