Complete autograph manuscript of Kouprine including the original version of the short story Tcherkasov published in Paris in Illustrated Russia in 1928 under the title Ilja Byrdine. This work with a lively style is part of a set of short stories dedicated to animals and particularly to horses. These sketches are presented as the stories of Cherkasoff.
6 leaves, middle fold, written in brown ink, some corrections in colored pencil.
The handwritten version has some differences from the printed text. In particular the name of the central character is written Bryndine and some stylistic turns simplified in the edition.
