Large oval brooch mounted in yellow gold (750) punctuated with a line of white half pearls, grain set, centered on a miniature on paper depicting a woman in bust, dress and blue cap, bordered with fur.
The background is lined with a white mother-of-pearl plate.

Traces of a possible monogram [C.T. or C.F. ???] on the left.
Early 18th century for the miniature.
19th century for the setting.

Miniature to be refixed in its mount.
Some scratches from use, slightly deformed pin; some cracks to the mother-of-pearl plate on the reverse.
Some wear and tear on the edges of the miniature, with old restoration to the subject's ear.
According to family tradition this woman is Marie-Casimire-Louise de LA GRANGE d'ARQUIENS (1641-1716), wife of Jean SOBIESKI, King of Poland.
However, her face does not resemble that of the known portraits.
