When the time prescribed by the Law of Moses for purification was fulfilled, the parents of Jesus brought him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord, as it is written in the Law: Every firstborn male child shall be dedicated to the Lord. They also came to offer the sacrifice prescribed by the Law of the Lord: a pair of turtle doves or two small doves. Now there was a man in Jerusalem named Simeon. He was a righteous and religious man, who was waiting for the Consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him." Condition report: cracks, restorations, missing. Also missing from the frame.
