GAETANO RONCA, ITALY 19th CENTURY)
Bust of the poet Giovanni Prati, 1872
In white marble depicting the poet wearing a bow tie and a medal with the Cross of Lorraine around his neck.
Gaetano Ronca sculpted two other busts of the poet Giovanni Prati (1814-1884), almost similar to the one presented. The first one, probably in stone, can be found on the Promenade del Pincio, which dominates the Campus Martius in Rome, among the 228 sculptures of Italian personalities that line the gardens. The second, in bronze, is 90 cm high and is kept in the Palazzo del Bo in Padua.
