"the enclosed letter will indicate that Smith and Elder are willing to furnish you with chromolithograph copies of the three folded plates and stereotypes of the woodcuts, at cost. It is rather doubtful, however, that the plates with English names will be used for translation. I am sending by this mail a complete set of cards with some corrected errata. I remain, dear sir, your faithful servant."
