"I receive my dear Lafon, your letter of the 10th of prairial and I see with great interest that you deserve by the spirit and by the heart all the attachment I have for you. I have [made] some progress. I regretted not being able to help you more powerfully, but obstacles are made for souls that the desire for perfection sets on fire.
