Marie BESNARD, called "The poisoner of Loudun" whose trial lasted 10 years and ended with her release in 1954 and her acquittal by the Gironde court in December 1961.
File containing several photographs of Marie Besnard and her last companion, Marius Bonhour, three letters that she addressed to her friend at the time of her acquittal in 1961 and a letter in which she describes the accident that nearly cost Bonhour his life. There are also a few newspaper articles about the trial, but above all the famous black lace mantilla that she always wore during the trial.
