Two brush pots. Japan, Edo period, 19th century.
Bronze and cloisonné enamels.
With marks of use. Slight flaws in the enamel on the base of one of them.
Measurements: 9.5 x 7 cm and 6.5 x 5 cm.
Pair of cylindrical brush pots. They are made entirely of bronze and decorated with the cloisonné enamel technique. Cloisonné enamel is a technique which consists of depositing the vitreous enamel paste in recessed compartments or compartments formed by metal sheets which, in relief, make up the silhouette of the design.
