Two vases. Japan, Edo period, 19th century. Bronze and cloisonné enamels. With signs of use, damage and loss to the enamel. Measurements: 12.5 x 6.5 cm and 12 x 6 cm. Pair of vases made in bronze and decorated with the cloisonné enamel technique. Also called alveolate or partitioned, cloisonné enamel is a technique which consists of depositing the vitreous paste of the enamel in recessed compartments or formed by metal sheets which, in relief, make up the silhouette of the design.
