Chinese school of the Qing dynasty, 19th century. "Boats". Four paintings on rice paper in a single frame. With damp stains, faults and wrinkles. Size: 18.5 x 28.5 cm (each); 110.5 x 44 cm (frame). Chinese painting was characterized by fine, detailed workmanship, as can be seen in the four paintings now on auction. They are a set of four drawings depicting different ships, each perfectly individualised with different flags, sails, masts, typically oriental decoration and architectural frames.
