SPECIALIST NOTESRare
edition of The Flying Eagle, formerly attributed to the famous humanist L. Bruni and whose authorship remains controversial.
Yes it is a great "eagle's eye" compendium, according to Dante's symbology relating to Justinian (Pd. VI), of the history of the world starting from its mythical origins, a reworked version of Guido da Pisa's Fiorita d'Italia. The work is largely built on reprises and quotations from Dante's Divine Comedy, which provides a real textual substrate; the other fundamental literary model is Virgil's Aeneid.
