Michel Schetter was born in 1948 in La Louvière (Belgium), he is an author of comics (scriptwriter, draftsman, and colorist), painter and writer. He started in comics in 1973 within the team of the newspaper Spirou with a Beautiful story of Uncle Paul. Then he collaborates with Tibet, realizing the colors of Ric Hochet, Chick Bill and Le Club des " Peur-de-Rien ". From 1976 to 1981, for the Journal de Tintin, he illustrated short realistic stories. Les Années de feu, a series of short stories, became his first album in 1982. From 1983 he creates the first eight albums of the Cargo series. At the same time, he drew La dernière auberge, Le Château d'Ichor (1984) and Le Boulevard de Marylin (1985). He also scripted for the magazine Vécu the two parts of the series Yerushalaim. From 1997, he resumed Cargo and Berlin. In 2005 he published Sabre au clair, his autobiography.
