A pair of important carved feuteuils
Painted pale blueish green, polychromed and gilt, damask upholstery. Cartouche-form backrests and moulded round armrests on corresponding supports. Curved apron and serpentine legs of square section with prominent kneels. Carved throughout with naturalistically painted flowers. Minor losses and retouches to the polychromy. H 109, W 64, seat depth 52 cm.
Attributed to Northern Italy/Venice, third quarter 18th C.
