MANUSCRIT - [ROMÉ, Albert Marie de, marquis de Vernouillet] - Procès verbal des preuves de filiation, légitimité de Noblesse de Noble Albert Marie de Romé de Vernouillet, Ecuyer. Presented of Minority. Year 1753 (made in Verneuil). S. l. (Paris ?), 1753. 5 ff. on parchment (coat of arms), 141 ff. and (1) f., brown mar. pl. (formerly blue), triple gilt thread on covers, fleurons on corners, spine with ornate nerves, gilt tr. Coat of arms painted in color and gold, as well as those appearing on the two double-page genealogical tables of the paternal and maternal ancestors. Norman nobility known since the 16th century. Several of the ancestors were knights of Malta. One of them was President of the Chamber of Accounts of Normandy in 1619 and two others Captains of the Venison for the King's pleasure. Albert Marie's father, Louis-Pierre de Romé became Marquis of Vernouillet in 1723. Minutes drawn up by two commissioners, knights of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem: Paul de Vion, Commander of Villedieu-le-Bailleul and Gabriel de Bricqueville de la Luzerne, Commander of Sours and Arville. Signed at the end and with their red wax stamps. Copy attested by Me Jean Baptiste Froment. One inserted at the end a certificate of validity signed by three commissioners of the Language of France. Minutes intended for a candidature to the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem. Albert Marie de Romé de Vernouillet (1730-1793) embraced a military career. Captain of cavalry in the regiment of La Rochefoucauld (1751), he served in Germany from 1757 to 1759, was Lieutenant-Colonel of the regiment of the volunteers of Liège (June 12, 1759), Marshal of Camp in 1791, General of Brigade in 1793. He was condemned to death that year, accused of having wanted to deliver Blois to the Vendeans. Admitted to the Order on March 9, 1754.
