Perpetual CALENDAR made sensible, and made accessible to everyone: or New and true perpetual calendar. By M. G. S. H. Paris, De l'Imprimerie de Gueffier, 1774. Small in-12, garnet morocco, triple gilt fillet, coat of arms in the center, smooth spine decorated, interior roulette, gilt edges (Binding of the time). Curious perpetual calendar, suitable to give an exact & faithful account of all the operations one would like to do since the beginning of the Christian Era, until the end of the world. It includes 6 folding tables, including the table to find at once & without any calculation the Golden Number that belongs to any Year since the birth of Jesus Christ until always, a plate out of text containing 3 volvelles, a small folded printed sheet serving for the mobile feasts (p. 96) and 12 other small printed butterflies provided with a blue silk bookmark placed in windows arranged in the corresponding sheets. EXEMPLAIRE WITH THE ARMS OF THE COUNTESS OF BARRY (1746-1793), last favorite of Louis XV, who died on the scaffold. Her library contained a little more than a thousand volumes, most of them bound in morocco with her coat of arms by Vente and Redon (cf. Quentin Bauchart, Les Femmes bibliophiles de France, t. II, pp. 181-215). Missing a blue silk bookmark.
