Bone pontoon model of the ship of the line HMS BARFLEUR. The model is presented in its box in the shape of a theater in straw marquetry. The backdrop is made of a set of mirrors and straw marquetry. This model, a true masterpiece, is presented in its original box which makes this set one of the rarest and most sumptuous sets listed. Hull length 19 cm, length HT 29 cm. Early 19th century Box 37 x 17 cm x 31 cm. Note: The HMS Barfleur, an English ship of the line (Royal Navy) of 90 guns was launched in 1768. In 1773 she was the flagship of the fleet. She participated in many wars and battles. From the American War of Independence to the Napoleonic Wars. It was disarmed in 1819.
