Half-hull of shipyard - Model of shipowner presented under window of the cargo steamer MIDLAND CITY. The bright works are in a pink faded by time, the dead works in black. The superstructures and deck panels are lacquered in white and Naples yellow. Doors and portholes are drawn with Indian ink. All the metal fittings are gilded. The vertical support is a mirror for part, the lateral sides mounted at an angle are mirrors. The joinery of the showcase is in mahogany, the front posts are in turned wood. Two ivory plates are positioned at the bottom of the window. The one on the left is engraved with the name of the shipyard: "CRAIG TAYLOR Co Iron Steel Shipbuilders Engineers Stockton on Tees", the one on the right: the characteristics of the ship. Dimensions of the display case: 0.50 x 2.36 x 0.25 m. Circa 1885. Marks of time, sold as is.
