VITTORIA Alenssandro (1528-1608). (Workshop). "The death of Lucretia". Bronze with brown patina. Northern Italy XVIIè. H.without base 14. H.total 24. This statue evokes the episode of the death of Lucretia who commits suicide by piercing her left breast, following the rape she had undergone and which led to the end of the monarchy in Rome. It is particularly refined and delicate. The fineness of the details and the modeling is remarkable, hair, face etc. The casting, the chasing and the patina of our work correspond perfectly to the Venetian workshops of the 16th and early 17th century.
