Louis Majorelle (French, 1859-1926) Pine tree bookcase, c. 1904 in carved, molded and ribbed solid mahogany and courbaril veneer. The front, opening with three glass doors in the upper part, is inlaid with a decoration of hydrangeas in precious wood in the lower part. The doors are separated by capitals finely carved in high relief with pine cones. The lateral jambs, slightly curved, end in pine cone motifs and repeat this decoration in the reception area. The moving base rests on corner feet called "Elephant". Two original bronze naturalistic keys (one damaged). Art Nouveau period, c. 1904. Height 203 cm, length 194 cm, depth 41.5 cm.
