Pierre Guariche (French, 1926-1995) Floor lamp "kite", G30, model created around 1954 in lacquered metal and brass. Edition Pierre Disderot. Provenance : acquired in the 1950's by an engineer from Tours ; by descent. Bibliography: Delphine Jacob, Lionel Blaise, Aurélien Jeauneau, "Pierre Guariche", Paris, Norma, 2020, pp. 60 and 75. The G25 wall lamp was first presented at the Saint-Dizier urban exhibition in 1954, but it was in the film "Votre dévoué Blake" by Jean Laviron that it was really brought to light. The G30 floor lamp was exhibited the same year at the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs. Playing with the light rays, the sail in perforated metal created the surprise, earning this series the name, attributed a posteriori, of "kite".
