Pierre Guariche (French, 1926-1995) Wall lamp "kite", G25, model around 1954. in lacquered metal and brass on telescopic arm. Edition Pierre Disderot. Provenance : acquired in the 1950's by an engineer from Tours ; by descent. Bibliography: Delphine Jacob, Lionel Blaise, Aurélien Jeauneau, " Pierre Guariche ", Paris, Norma, 2020, p. 60-61 and 75. If the G25 wall lamp is presented for the first time at the urban exhibition of Saint-Dizier in 1954, it is in the film " Votre dévoué Blake " by Jean Laviron, that it is really highlighted. The G30 floor lamp was exhibited the same year at the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs. Playing with the light rays, the sail in perforated metal created the surprise, earning this series the name, attributed a posteriori, of "kite".
