Charlotte Perriand (French, 1903-1999) Armchair n°21, model designed in 1935 in ash and straw. Provenance : - armchair acquired by Gilles Ferry, professor of philosophy and friend of Charlotte Perriand, before 1960, Petit-Clamart - by descent, private collection, Paris. Bibliography : Jacques Barsac, Charlotte Perriand, "Un Art d'habiter", Norma Editions, Paris, 2011, pp. 275, 280, 305. Created in 1935 by Charlotte Perriand, the armchair model n°21, also known as Chamrousse, was produced between 1966 and 1967, probably by the Sentou workshop in Linde, for a hotel in the ski resort of Flaine in Haute Savoie.
