Fragment, probably from a sarcophagus, representing a standing Eros Thanatos, the flame turned downwards, his quiver hanging from a bow. He presides over a sacrifice scene where a veiled vestal sacrifices a bull in front of an aulos player and two figures, one of whom is a soldier. The military man is dressed in an anatomical cuirass and a cape and makes himself a sacrifice on a burning altar with the help of a patera. Marble with beige patina Roman art, early 3rd century H. 65.5 cm W. 88.5 cm - D. 12 cm DL Reglued in two parts, one horn of the bull restored, fillings (especially on the right arm of Eros) Provenance: R. G. Collection since the 1960s, then by descent.
