Two porcelain cups with enamelled decoration of the Pink Family of seven magpies in the middle of prunus branches in flower on a yellow background, flowery scrolls on the reverse side, gold border on the lip, Guangxu mark in six characters kaishu in iron red enamel on the base, surrounded on one of them by a double circle in blue underglaze
Short crack (2 cm) on the outside of one of the cups, and firing defects (pinheads) on the reverse and the bases. Slight wear of the enamels

Provenance : according to the family tradition, these bowls would have been offered by the emperor PUYI (1906-1967), last emperor of China, to a French doctor-colonel posted in Indochina, in thanks for the care he gave to a member of the imperial family. Then by descent.
