Large engraving by Godefroy after Jean-Baptiste Isabey, 1819.
This famous engraving symbolizes the famous Congress of Vienna held in the Austrian capital from October 1814 to June 1815. Curiously this engraving, put on the market in 1819, although planned from 1815, has never been painted. Only a sepia, property of H.M. the Queen of England, and some preparatory drawings kept in the Louvre Museum exist; 66 x 88 cm. Gilt frame of the period.
A small engraving representing the same scene, as well as an engraving with the names of the characters; 38 x 26,5 cm.
Restoration period. Good condition.
