Beautiful old Kimono from the early twentieth century. It is made of gray silk crepe with white silk-screened decoration. The theme of the decoration is not repeated. It is a single scene of landscape with flowers and trees, a river and waterfalls. On the sleeves and shoulders we also find crane-like waders. In the center of the back, two rocks support forgotten artifacts: faggots, a purse and a cup. The entire pattern is embroidered with silk threads (3 shades of green, 2 shades of red, black and yellow) to color the textile. The whole is also enhanced with gold cannetille threads. The lining is made of vermilion silk. The model is long and forms a slight train. The bottom hem is inflated by a wadding and the edges of the neckline and sleeves. One size fits all. Nice condition. The kimono smells like dust. No hole noticed on the pattern. 2 small holes on the bottom flange and a stain. 1 pinhole on the inside and a small stain. The cannetille embroidery has a few very rare loose threads. Provenance : Trunks and attics of the Château de la Maroutière
